Client Insurance Policy
Insurance Information – Important Updates
Starting January 1st, we will only process direct claims for specific insurance companies. If your insurer is not on our list, you will need to pay the balance in full and then claim back from your insurance provider.
Direct vs. Indirect Claims
Indirect Claims
- You pay your pet’s veterinary bill in full.
- We help you submit your claim to your insurer free of charge. The current processing time is around 10-14 working days.
- Your insurance company reimburses you directly.
- Example: Daisy’s insulin prescription costs £52. Mrs. Jones pays the full amount, leaves a filled out claim form with reception, and receives reimbursement from her insurer.
Direct Claims
- Available only for the following insurance companies:
- AA, Admiral, Agria, Animal Friends, Argos, Asda, Co-op, Direct Line, John Lewis, Kennel Club, Legal & General, Liverpool Victoria, Many Pets, Marks & Spencer, More Than, NatWest, NFU, PetPlan, Sainsbury’s, Tesco.
- You pay the policy excess, any co-payment (if applicable), and an admin fee (£30 for 6 months or £60 for 12 months).
- We claim the outstanding balance from your insurer on your behalf.
-
Example: Patch needs an X-ray, and the total cost is £500. Mr. Jones checks his insurance policy to confirm his excess amount. He then pays £150 to us for his policy excess, a £30 admin fee, and signs a direct claim agreement form. We will then claim the remaining balance directly from the insurance company. Once the payment is made to us, we will inform Mr. Jones if there are any further deductions from his insurance company that he will need to pay.
* *Please Note: The insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance provider. If your claim is declined for any reason, you will be responsible for paying the full outstanding balance within 30 days of notification.
Admin Fee Policy
The admin fee covers multiple claims for the same condition over 6 or 12 months. Separate conditions will require new admin fees and contracts.
Co-Payment Clause
Certain policies (usually for older pets) require a co-payment of 10-20% of treatment costs. Check your policy for details.
Pre-Authorisations
For expensive treatments, some insurers offer pre-authorisations. We can provide cost estimates to your insurer to check coverage before treatment.
Other Information
- We do not offer Direct Claims for Dental Treatments for any insurance companies.
- We do not process direct claims for prescription food, written prescriptions, non-prescription medications, or items like sharps boxes for diabetes.
